Former NBA Champion and All-Star Announces Retirement

Jonathan Clay "JJ" Redick, who spent 15 seasons in the NBA, has announced his retirement from professional basketball.

Redick, 39, was born in Cookeville, Tennessee, and played college basketball at Duke University. He was drafted 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2006 NBA Draft.

Redick played for the Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Dallas Mavericks during his career. He was a two-time All-Star and won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010.

Redick is considered one of the greatest three-point shooters in NBA history. He ranks fourth all-time in career three-pointers made and is a member of the NBA's 50-40-90 Club, which consists of players who have shot 50% or better from the field, 40% or better from three-point range, and 90% or better from the free throw line.

Redick has also been successful in his post-NBA career. He currently hosts a popular podcast called "The Old Man and the Three" and is a basketball analyst for ESPN.
